What type of stories can I submit to Novelty Sense?

Novelty Sense welcomes a wide range of stories. We particularly embrace stories that are routinely devalued or even scorned by mainstream media. If you feel too hesitant to send a story to a mainstream outlet, or demoralized by the feeling that your story is likely to be deemed too low of a priority to consider, then that is the story Novelty Sense is interested in. There are so many stories that mainstream media are unable or unwilling to bring to the public's attention. Newspapers and websites are limited by their platform's finite physical space, and news segments are constrained by time. Consequently, the media destines many stories for exclusion. The excluded stories usually impact the most invisible and marginalized members of society. Novelty Sense is on a mission to circulate these marginalized narratives and stories.

Can I remain anonymous?

Novelty Sense currently does not accept anonymous stories. We celebrate transparency and prefer to bring honest visibility to your story. If the source remains invisible, this is contrary to our mission to unveil events, issues, or people that are shrouded in secrecy and disempowered by darkness. Novelty Sense is willing to accept anonymous stories to discuss one-on-one or to provide assistance to individuals who are reaching out for help. However, any details or stories submitted by anonymous sources to Novelty Sense will not be published to our website.

 

Does my story need evidence?

Novelty Sense is proud to be a research and evidence-based publication that strives for accuracy. Only under very rare and extreme circumstances would we be willing to publish a story that is dispossessed of verifiable evidence. However, if you feel inclined to share a story that is unverifiable, Novelty Sense is more than willing to convert the details into a compelling fictional account of events to maintain the integrity of our website while ensuring that you are not completely silenced.
