WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU PERSONALLY WITNESSED A WILD ANIMAL FREELY ENJOYING ITS HABITAT? Modern humans' seclusion from nature is unprecedented. Swamps are suffocated by asphalt and vibrant ecosystems crushed by concrete. Modern life has erected intimidating boundaries between wildlife and civilization. This deep detachment from nature discourages modern human beings from appreciating wildlife's valuable contributions to our remaining ecosystems and enables us to remain unaware of the rapidly shrinking wildlife populations. While the ancients animated, revered, and worshiped wildlife, modern humans forget that bees are even needed to pollinate the plants we eat. 

Featured Creatures highlights the creatures we have forgotten and separated from our modern existence as we totter on the edge of ecological collapse. Featured Creatures is motivated by the belief that the more humans acknowledge our coexistence with wildlife, the more we are apt to being committed caretakers of planet earth.
